To Launch Bentley OpenUtilities Designer from a Laptop

If the Laptop has both Oracle Client and Oracle Lite installed, connect to either the Master database instance or the replicated instance using either Connected Mode (via Oracle Client) or Disconnected Mode (via Oracle Lite).

If only Oracle Lite is installed, launch Workflow Manager in the usual manner). Appendix A provides more Information on switching between connected and disconnected modes on the same computer.

Connected Mode

Both Oracle Client and Oracle Lite Installed.

Run EDMASTER.BAT provided by Bentley.
  1. Refreshes data if the previous mode was disconnected.
  2. Changes the CHDATA DSN to point to the SID in CHDATAMASTER DSN, and
  3. Launches Bentley OpenUtilities Designer.

Disconnected Mode

Both Oracle Client and Oracle Lite Installed.

Run EDREPLICA.BAT provided by Bentley.
  1. Changes the CHDATA DSN to point to the SID in CHDATALITE DSN.
  2. Refresh requires CHDATA is pointing to Oracle Lite.
  3. Refreshes data if the previous mode was Connected
  4. Launches Workflow Manager.

Run From Desktop

Only Oracle Lite Installed

If the laptop has only Oracle Lite installed, run Bentley OpenUtilities Designer Workflow Manager from the Desktop.
